Do you feel weak? Short-term weakness may occur because of overwork, stress, or lack of sleep. You may also feel weakness after overcoming an illness. It is normal to feel some weakness after some physical activity. You may also feel weakness as a symptom of depression. Recently that is where I was, just feeling weak and weary. I was feeling spiritually weak, like I had nothing else to give.
Through the Holy Spirit. It is not by our own mustering, but by His. God the Holy Spirit is the one who supernaturally works within to provide that spiritual strength, that is what I needed spiritual strength. Holy Spirit gives us new desires, helps us walk in obedience, and conforms us into the image of Christ. If we want spiritual strength, then we must dependent on the supernatural work of God, not on the changing of our circumstances.
If you're in the middle of spiritual fatigue, you've probably have gotten pretty comfortable with your routine with God. Have you been reading the same scriptures over and over again? Are you meeting with God in the same place and time? Or is your quality time with God in isolation -- no accountability? Maybe it's time to switch things up a bit! Try a different place and time. Pray and ask God what He wants you to change and even ask Him for a new hunger or thirst for His word. You have to disrupt your comfort zone if you want to see change and experience God fully.
After fasting and praying all summer, God has given me new marching orders as it pertains to my time spent with Him. My family, business and ministry. We need to learn to trust in God and allow the change to grow us into everything that God has created us to be.
