Let's dismantle the myths about healing. ❗Healing does not mean you are a doormat. ❗Healing is not about getting that apology, an apology itself doesn't heal. ❗Healing requires that you become accountable for your life. You have the power to take back your life. ❗Healing is not blaming others, instead of pointing the finger decide that you are not your hurt. Decide that you are not who they say you are. You are who God says you are and everything that God has created you to be. ❗Healing is forgiveness to those who have hurt you. Forgiving doesn’t mean shrugging and saying “Oh, well.” Take your feelings seriously. Cry, grieve, write angry passages in your journal. Use exercise to work off some of the tension. Talk with trusted friends or family. Seek counseling to help resolve your feelings. You have a right to feel hurt and anger.
